President’s
Message |

|
| |
Hello
Sorors and Friends,
You have entered the website of the Rancocas Valley Alumnae
Chapter (RVAC). We are proud to be a part of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority’s Historic Eastern Region. Yes, it all began in the
East. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on the
campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. In 1913 our
Founders, in their infinite wisdom, lit a torch 97 years ago
that still burns ever so brightly today. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
For more than 34 years RVAC has provided programs and services to
various populations residing in the Greater Burlington County
area. Our chapter was chartered with 20 members. Today our roles
exceed 100 members. The passion and fire of pure commitment
fuels us as we continually grant scholarships and implement
programming with a focus on our fire point program thrust of
Economic Development, Educational Development, International
Awareness, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness
and Involvement. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
We in RVAC strive to work collaboratively with businesses,
political leaders, churches, community groups, schools, and
other Greek organizations, to name a few. This is evidenced our
Delta GEMS, Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, Delta Days at the
state and National capital, Community recognition events, our
Economic Directory of Black owned Businesses, and a new Delta
Initiative EMBODI which focus on the needs of young African
–American males. We also regularly conduct voter registration
drives, and we encourage our youth groups to incorporate service
in their daily lives. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
You are invited to explore our web site, and to provide us with
feedback regarding issues facing every facet of the lives of
people residing in our service area. We work diligently to
provide services that are relevant and meaningful. Your input
can help us to achieve our lofty goals |
|
| |
|
|
| |
From top to bottom our organization recognizes the responsibility vested
in us by our membership in this gift called Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc. As our National President, Soror Cynthia
Butler-McIntyre reminds us that “Delta Sigma Theta is A
Sisterhood called to Serve,” and our goal is to “Transform lives
and Impact communities.” |
|
| |
|
|
| |
We hope that you enjoy our website and become educated with regards to
the good works that RVAC renders to the Greater Burlington
County area. A hand in sisterhood is also extended to Sorors who
do not have a chapter home. RVAC can best be described as
dynamic, and committed to making this a better world!
With warmest regards,
Ruth L. Barrett
